One named customer beats a page of statistics

In a charity study, people who read about one named seven-year-old girl gave roughly twice as much as people shown statistics about millions facing the same hunger. Putting those statistics next to her story pulled giving back down. One specific person makes readers feel, while numbers make them calculate, so lead with one customer and save the totals for later.

๐Ÿ’ก Why it matters

An ad, case study or pitch that opens with big totals can move people less than one specific person's story, even though the numbers are bigger.
